Thieves often defeat a good loss prevention program by subverting it from the inside. One of the slickest techniques to steal parcels is to redirect them to a new location. The Filcher simply slaps a new shipping label over the existing one or repackages small boxes into larger ones.

This clever method of pilferage is relatively low risk to the perpetrator and difficult to catch. Worst of all, your company's valuable resources are used to deliver the stolen merchandise to the thief while the standard loss prevention precautions have been completely avoided.

Errant™ pinpoints trucks carrying parcels that have deviated from their original route due to over-labeling or repackaging. This sophisticated system works by use of radio transmitters, implants, sensors, locators and pagers.

Radio transmitting implants are strategically placed in valuable looking parcels. These items are then allowed to run their course through the shipping routes. When trucks carrying the baited package arrive at the shipping facility, door sensors alert loss prevention personnel via pager and strobe light.

As the truck is preparing to leave with the implants, loss prevention personnel intercept the truck and send the driver on a walk. Using the hand held transmitter, the bugged packages are located and inspected for parcel overlabeling, repackaging or tampering.

Once the overlabeled item is found,
you have several options.

Carefully send the parcel to us for finger print identification and physical evidence development. Work with law enforcement agencies to make a controlled delivery at its new labeled destination. Remove the item off the truck to prevent any loss.
