SAVVYFAN™

INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
Thoroughly study all system components
before proceeding with installation. Carefully review the mounting
location options.
Savvyfanä
applications should be connected directly, through its 15-amp fuse, to the
battery. Do not exceed this 15-amp fuse. Warning: Do
not connect Savvyfan’s power lead to Premier (Terminal 5) or Hotdog™
(Terminal 7) as this can cause an over current condition leading to
Premier/Hotdog and Savvyfan system failure, endangering the K-9.

Savvyfanä
Connections:
PIN 1—System Power 12VDC (Shown red in the above image):
Connect the RED wire of the 12’ Red/Black zip
wire direct from the vehicle battery via the 15-amp fuse link.
PIN 2--Ground: Connect
the BLACK wire of 12’ Red/Black zip wire direct from the vehicle battery.
Caution: Do not reverse the polarity.
PIN 3--Fan power 12VDC:
Connect the RED wire of 6’ Red/Black zip wire to
fan.
PIN 4--Fan Ground:
Connect the BLACK wire of 6’ Red/Black zip wire to fan.
PIN 5--
Not used.
Plug Savvyfanä
probe into the stereo jack on rear of back panel.
The fan should be mounted in a
position to allow the movement of cool air from the front, pushing it into the
rear K-9 compartment.
A typical place is in the dividing
panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. Mark the panel and cut a 7
¼” round hole. Position the fan in the forward compartment with the
grillwork facing the K-9 compartment. Mark and drill the four 7/32”
holes to mount the fan. Do not remove the rubber gasket from the
grill; doing so may cause vibration or noise in the partition.
Select a mounting position for the fan control unit, keeping in mind the need
to reach it to turn it off/on and to set it’s operational parameters.
Do not place temperature probe or
control unit where it is in reach of the K-9.
OPERATING
PARAMETERS:
The LED light will turn on when the
Savvyfan control box is turned on.
In
the full counterclockwise position the fan will not come on until the
temperature is between 68°-72° Fahrenheit. It will then run at full
speed.
In the full clockwise position the fan
will start to run between 78°-82° Fahrenheit and be running full speed around
85° Fahrenheit.
