Protection against a range of hazardous chemical and biological agents
The Chemical Protective Undergarment, commonly referred to as the CPU, provides a level of vapour protection against a range of potentially hazardous Chemical agents.
It is recommended that the CPU be worn, as stipulated by a response unit's own operating procedures, under the Med-Eng EOD 9 and SRS 5 protective ensembles; it may be used in conventional hazardous material clean-up operations as an undergarment.
Components include a one piece garment covering the torso, arms, legs, and feet. Gloves and a balaclava are also included.
Comfortable and non-abrasive.
Should be worn in conjunction with a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) or Air Purifying Respirator (APR).
